He inherited an old computer from his dad that had an i5 processor and 8GB of RAM but struggled to perform well. After installing a GTX 1050 Ti and an SSD, it has improved significantly. For internet access, the only choice is Ethernet. How can I switch to Wi-Fi while maintaining low latency and a stable connection? Are there new motherboards that include built-in wireless capabilities? What steps would you recommend? Thank you.

Some systems include Wi-Fi or AC in their names. PCIe WiFi cards, USB adapters, etc. Newer models often feature a M.2 E slot, though it's uncommon. Cable connections always outperform wireless in speed and low latency.

Thanks for the help @Electronics Wizardy! @Jurrunio did a great job answering my questions. I plan to improve my wired connection and, if needed, look into a PCIe card or USB dongle.

Opt for a direct Ethernet connection to the router or modem. Flat white cables are available and simple to conceal.
