Trying to play games on your OLED TV via Steam Link can be tricky due to network setup. Make sure your router supports streaming, adjust the game settings for lower resolution, and check if other devices are connected properly.
I recently purchased a Nvidia Shield Pro for more than $300 because Linus frequently mentioned it's ideal for streaming devices. In reality, it performs poorly when it comes to game streaming. Frequent high pings and packet drops occurred, while other devices on the network functioned normally. Testing from the router to itself showed quick response times with minimal loss. The device responded well to LAN connections, but the connection to the desktop was slower and more unstable. Overall, it works fine for general use, but not suitable for real-time applications like gaming.
It's even more irritating when you run a speed test using a mobile browser or app, and it gives solid performance. Signals reach a nearby server within 8 ms, with speeds exceeding 400Mbps.
