I've been using this PC for just over a year now. After returning from vacation, I tried playing Overwatch and noticed it froze repeatedly. I disconnected and reconnected, thinking it was just a one-time issue. I kept playing through the loss of save points, but it kept happening. During brief periods without internet, everything seemed to disconnect and pages wouldn't load. My Wi-Fi worked fine since my phone could browse there. My PC uses a Gigabyte WiFi card (GC-WB867D-I). I suspect the problem might be with that component. I've confirmed it's properly plugged in and the antenna cables are connected. I'm running out of ideas and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks ahead!
I haven’t tested a different PCIe slot yet, though this one has been reliable for a while. I’ll follow up after trying it. 2. The Intel Wireless driver was updated, but it didn’t make a difference. 3. I just made that change. I’ll check again to see if the issue persists. If it does, I’ll switch PCIe slots.
Sure thing! Let’s make sure you’re doing great with your science project. Have fun and stay curious, Bill Nye!
I cleared my router right away when I saw the issue. I played through the whole game without any trouble. Avast is installed, so I suspect it might be the cause. I turned it off and didn’t run into the problem. Now I’m going to turn it back on and check if it happens again.
It might be possible to bypass certain security features by turning off built-in protections like a firewall or web filter. Testing without those components could reveal vulnerabilities. Appreciate the info!
I turned it off and suddenly got stuck. I really don’t have any more ideas right now.
