Hey everyone, I'm working on setting up a Raspberry Pi 4 with Raspbian to RDP to a Windows PC. I need to use the locally connected USB webcam, but so far the RDP isn't working even with xfreerdp. I've tried different connection methods, but nothing shows up in the remote machine. Any advice or guidance would be really helpful. Thanks!

I suggest configuring it as an IP camera so you can enter the IP address in your browser. I’ve done this before and it’s quite straightforward. For a Remote Desktop setup, consider using screen sharing software to access the camera feed on the RPI.

An IP mapping could help make the cam available on Windows for tools like Teams.

You're planning to configure the RPI as a webcam?

I want to connect the RPi4 to a TV in a meeting room. The device will only serve as a gateway to the hyperV hosted Windows VM. Essentially, the Pi acts as a simple client. So far, RDP from the Pi to Windows is functioning well and the USB webcam works locally. However, when attempting to view the camera feed online, it appears as a camera icon with a strike through it. I suspect I need to set up some audio/video routing. Let me know, Matt.
