I was considering the setup for when friends visit. I thought about using Borderlands 2, but since we use our own monitors and play online, that might not fit. Other options include Destiny 2 and Gears of War 4. How would you like to arrange it?

Just set up the port forwarding for your game server, and it should let you connect locally.

Your message seems a bit unclear. Are you trying to figure out how to connect two PCs for LAN gaming at home? If yes, it should be quite simple. You likely have internet through a modem linked to a home Wi-Fi router or a combined modem/wifi/router device. For a wired LAN setup, the router should have open switch ports on its back, typically labeled 1 through 4. Use long network patch cables to connect the router switches to your PCs' network cards. If you use Wi-Fi cards, connect to the same network. Confirm both devices have IP addresses on the same network—usually assigned by the DHCP server in your router. Check that each device has an IP like 192.168.x.x with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Ensure the first three parts match and the last number is unique per device. If everything checks out, you should be able to run LAN games together and your friend can join via the game's LAN feature or directly using their IP. If you set your IP manually, consider starting with something like 169.x.x.x or install extra security software for smoother setup.
