I checked my component list and noticed the PSU I picked doesn’t include an 8-pin EPS port while my motherboard and CPU have an 8-pin one. I wondered if it’s necessary to ensure the connector is fully seated. Also, the PSU I’m using is the Corsair CV550.

Usually a 4-pin connection suffices, but for pushing performance limits you may need more advanced settings.

It means you won’t get any extra power beyond what’s already available, so staying under the 150W limit for that 4-pin connector is the only option.

You possess an EPS 8 connector that's divided into two 4-pin adapters...

I didn’t consider upgrading because I’m working with limited funds.

I was already sure I only needed to link everything.

It seems you're referring to the third 4-pin connector on certain boards. Yes, they’re included by design and won’t increase power usage since current flows through the circuit rather than being sent.
