You should enable the WAN connection feature within the PfSense interface itself. Check the documentation for instructions on configuring it from the OS level.

You definitely don’t need this. Remember, you won’t be able to access your network or reset your pfSense password. It’s important to stay safe—use a VPN instead.

I’m unable to link to the configuration because accessing from my home network isn’t possible. There’s no LAN connection available; this setup is for a VMware server and I don’t have a clear path to reach it.

I discovered the reason it didn't function properly—the PfSense VM had incorrect settings.
