I'm attempting to link an old Mitsumi keyboard, model KPQ-E99YC, to USB. Various connectors and converters were tried without success. I connected it with a 5-pin DIN to PS2, then to a PS2 to USB adapter, but nothing worked. I read that an active converter with internal logic is required instead of a passive one.

It seems like a 5-pin (aviator) cable. Maybe
you could try finding an adapter like this one...
...?

This appears to be the ticket. I attempted to use a chain of adapters rather than a single product. The prices seem consistent. 45USD for Tinkerboy and 40USD on eBay.
