Hello everyone, I'm planning to upgrade my first PC with an Intel 13th gen i5. It should offer much better performance for productivity compared to the 7700X. Both should perform similarly in games. I'll focus on editing, rendering, and gaming. Power usage isn't a big concern. I think I can get both the i5 and 7700X for the same price. If I reduce the motherboard cost for the Ryzen, I might go with 6400 MHz RAM and an RTX 4070 Ti (though that's a few months away). What do you all think?

The i5 performs equally well in gaming and excels in productivity tasks, all at the same cost. It’s a straightforward choice.

I’m weighing the options and leaning more toward the i5 13600k. Why? Because I can secure the CPU and RAM for roughly 50€ less, and you mentioned the i5 handles things better. Another advantage is its cooler operating temperature. From my side, I also favor the software Intel offers over AMD. Sure, both have their drawbacks, but it’s just a personal preference. Plus, I’ve heard Intel performs better with faster memory scaling than AMD.

I can also choose between 7900xt and 4070ti at a similar cost. For the ultra-wide 2K monitor at 144Hz, the 4070ti offers better performance, while the 7900xt provides higher FPS. I was leaning toward the 4070ti but noticed it gives more FPS, so that’s what I should pick.
