Confusing: The built-in Bluetooth stops functioning unexpectedly, and the only fix is discharging the power supply unit?
Confusing: The built-in Bluetooth stops functioning unexpectedly, and the only fix is discharging the power supply unit?
Initially, please note this might not be the right place since it relates to my motherboard. I own a Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 Socket AM4 board and an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3, paired with an 80+ GOLD 750W power supply. Six months ago, Bluetooth stopped functioning—Windows would say I didn’t have it enabled. I tried all possible fixes: driver updates, BIOS tweaks, nothing resolved the issue. I found a Reddit thread (no longer personal) from someone else with similar hardware but different specs. The solution involved shutting down the PC, cutting power to the PSU, pressing the power button briefly to discharge any residual energy (the RGB would flicker for a moment), then restarting everything. It worked! Bluetooth returned fully. Unfortunately, I’m forced to repeat this process several times weekly because the problem keeps coming up, often unexpectedly. This is really puzzling for me. I have three questions: 1. Do you think anyone knows why this might be happening? 2. Could this impact the longevity of my components? 3. Is it possible I’m just dealing with symptoms and there’s a permanent fix beyond a Bluetooth adapter or add-in card? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. This is very relevant since I rely heavily on Bluetooth devices daily.
I've been monitoring these issues on various boards with Intel AX2xx Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chips for more than a year. Many users have benefited from the fix I provided—simply powering off and holding the power button. How often does this occur? It only happened once on my B550/AX200 setup, especially since I rely heavily on Bluetooth. I always keep my Intel Bluetooth drivers updated.
Sorry for the repeated message. Is this affecting your electronics in any way? Frequent power discharges seem unusual and could pose risks.
I’m really sorry for the delayed response, but I truly appreciate your effort. It took me 12 hours working on this, repeatedly downloading each driver over and over, troubleshooting in Windows, and finally getting my Bluetooth fixed. Your patience means a lot—thank you so much for sharing this. I had no idea it would work this way.
