Since "marketing" often feels like empty promises, it's strange they manage to succeed. There are powerline adapters with gigabit ports, but you might not actually reach them—just because you're currently getting 100Mbps doesn't guarantee you can surpass it with an upgraded setup.
If you lived alone, but with your parents you were looking for the most affordable options to reach speeds of about 200Mb/s to 300Mb/s.
