With an OpenVPN server active, you only need to forward port 1194. After establishing a client connection, additional ports aren’t required since your network will seem local to the VPN server.

I had thought that too, but nothing will work. If it helps any at all, I'm running the OpenVPN access server. I have port 443, 1194, and 943 open.

It seems like you're unsure about something and have only used the OpenVPN client to set up your connection.
