We attempted it but it didn’t work. We searched online for advice on Minecraft and Discord forums, but no one could solve the problem. I’m still unsure what’s causing the issue. Any suggestions on next steps would be helpful.

OP asks about the specific model of their Gateway, whether it's a standard Xfinity device or a third-party model. They mention that understanding this could help with troubleshooting, especially regarding port forwarding issues with some Comcast dual-stack gateways.

Admiral Koba, can you clarify how to locate your gateway model? If it's about your router or modem, it seems like your device is plugged straight into it.

Consider assigning an external IP address of 0.0.0.0, then restart the modem/router and your PC, or temporarily disable and reactivate your network card after applying the settings.

Those options are likely for managing leases, but they may not directly apply to a "release wan lease" or "renew wan lease." It depends on the system you're using.

After updating your external IP to 0.0.0.0, store the configuration and then reboot your computer and modem.

Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for port forwarding. Using your exact IP address might not be effective.
