Configure Payday Force to navigate via LAN connections.
I play PayDay 2 with friends at university where we have more than four hours of break between classes. The school Wi-Fi is all enterprise-grade, so it's very stable—ping stays under 80 but we still get occasional drops. I was considering setting up a mini 5-port switch and configuring a static default gateway on my LAN (like 192.168.1.1) with a fixed IP for everyone. If I enable static routing via CMD, for example "192.168.1.playerip 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1", then all game traffic would go through the LAN while other connections stay on Wi-Fi. I heard that PayDay Crime.net is a Steam server browser, but once inside the game room it switches to peer-to-peer (similar to SC or W3). The host handles interactions, which is confusing. I’m not sure if this should be discussed in networking or PC gaming, but I hope Windows supports static routing per interface instead of just using an IP as a gateway.
It could potentially function, but I'm unfamiliar with similar experiences. Would it be better to stick with LAN for other tasks rather than attempting a Windows workaround?
