Hey everyone, I shared my question on another forum but am really stuck. The problem is trying to set up some devices via VPN at home, specifically using the router side so I can exceed the 5-device limit PIA allows. I’ve followed the PIA website instructions and the Lawrence IT Systems YT video to add PIA to OpenVPN on PFSense. I’m also checking out the PFSense 2.4.3 guide for selective routing, a killswitch, and troubleshooting. Despite following everything carefully, I still don’t see the status update I expect—just a different message instead of “up.” Have any of you seen similar issues or suggestions?

OpenVPN sets up a generic "Any" to "Any" policy for its own data. However, it remains subject to the standard WAN rules.

Have you checked if the server certificates were copied correctly? Make sure you have the appropriate servers linked to the certificate. If not, the issue might relate to the kill-switch—disable it to test further.

The only active kill switch available for this system is the VPN.

Have you explored another server? Did you configure DNS servers at 209.222.18.222 and 209.222.18.218?

I've checked US west, US east, Toronto, Switzerland, and Norway, and the DNS settings match those locations as well as DHCP DNS.

Check connectivity from another device when PFSense is running, regardless of whether you're connecting through PIA or directly.
