Configure - Gigabyte B650i AX with AMD Ryzen 9950X
Hello everyone, I’m looking for assistance in adjusting the BIOS settings for my new PC build. After assembling the system and running a benchmark test for the AMD Ryzen 9950X, the results are about 15% lower than the processor’s capabilities. I believe there are some restrictions from the B650 chipset, but with the right BIOS configurations, I should be able to achieve the processor’s full performance. However, I’m unsure which settings to modify. Here’s my current setup:
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650i AX (F32 bios)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9950X
RAM: 96 GB Kingstone Fury Renegate 6000Mhz CL32, 5060TI 16GB, 850W Corsair Platinum SF, water cooling, case with 5 fans, room temp ~22°C
My goal is to reach the standard or best performance the processor can deliver. Thank you!
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
However, the outcome is roughly 15% lower than what the processor can provide.
I’m looking for the standard performance (or best) available by the processor.
Could you share the relevant link or source? What results are you seeing with your configuration?

You still need to update your BIOS, as there’s one more version pending. Remember to install the chipset driver before flashing the BIOS.
RAM: 96 GB
Do you have a link to the RAM kit you’re using?
Please also mention the case make and model. Include ambient room temperatures as well as CPU temperatures.
As I see it, there are some restrictions because of the B650 chipset, but with proper BIOS settings, I should be able to reach the processor’s full performance.
Just a note: the board you have is a 5+2+1 VRM design. If I were you, I’d choose something more powerful if I were installing a Ryzen 9950X.

The current motherboard features a 5+2+1 VRM configuration, which should be sufficient for the AMD Ryzen 9950X.
