I have a gaming laptop and a secondary PC for streaming. I need to use my monitor to display the laptop screen while also sending an HDMI signal to a capture card for streaming. The issue arises when duplicating the HDMI output; at 1080p 144Hz, the capture card display becomes unstable and shows garbage. Can you help resolve this? Please refer to the attached image.

Ensure you have an active splitter for dual output. This could resemble the product linked: https://www.amazon.in/HD-102-Powered-Spl...B005HXFARS

It looks like your capture card isn't supporting lower refresh rates or scaling. You're limited to 60 fps max. Only the most advanced cards can process signals beyond that range. What model are you using?

However, when I reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz, both the capture card and monitor display the output, which suggests the capture card may not be capable of managing the 144Hz signal.

It might just be a matter of pure luck that it functions. HDMI operates as a direct data link, so splitting would require specialized equipment. The capture card also lacks a pass-through option, which could restrict the refresh rate.

The capture card doesn't support a pass-through, functioning more like an ElGato CamLink copy.
