There are no particular memory configurations that commonly lead to problems with the B650 Aorus Pro Ax MBOO and your Corsair Dominator setup. You're currently using DDR5 auto booster off, which is good. Disabling XMP settings might be helping you identify the issue. Since you're testing various games and have a 7950X3D, any changes in memory settings could be relevant. Keep an eye on crashes during fullscreen mode.

You continue experiencing crashes at low clock speeds (4800MHz) even when auto is enabled. It might help to re-seat the CPU in the socket. A colleague faced similar issues and tried various fixes; reseating resolved the problems.

it doesn't seem logical that a seating problem would lead to sporadic crashes, especially during direct X 12 games and fullscreen mode. these issues don't occur constantly; they appear occasionally and unpredictably, never affecting windowed fullscreen settings which distribute the workload equally across CPU and GPU. I replaced one CPU and reused it after testing another, confirming the problem wasn't due to poor seating. so far, without XMP, everything has worked smoothly—I haven't experienced any crashes yet, at least not yet, since they still happen randomly.

I understand, it seems like your issue isn't clear either. Which GPU are you running? I almost forgot about the dx12 part.

Corsair RAM problems mainly affect AM5 compatibility. Many users have reported issues across both AM4 and AM5 configurations. G. Skill identified the root cause effectively. The recommended fix is to use the 5600MHz variant or switch to G. Skill RAM. It’s worth noting that my own system cleared instantly, while others with similar builds faced difficulties. If you’re unsure, avoid the faulty memory and opt for a verified set.

You're experiencing some odd problems with your 4090 build after investing a lot in the process. It's possible the high cost affected the final outcome or setup.

the game launches quickly and functions properly, i didn’t claim it wasn’t working before. i disabled expo just to check if it was causing the crashes in fullscreen mode for dx12. have others reported similar problems with corsair memory? or are there other issues at play? my problem is quite unusual—i’ve never had any issues with expo or my system, everything runs smoothly during stress tests, and i’ve spent about a month testing to the point where i’m considering giving up since nothing makes sense.

It depends on your setup. Running with Expo off might work, but you could also adjust the DRM voltage, frequency, and timing manually to test what fits best.

I'm still checking, if it looks good without using Expo just do them by hand. Do you know how to find the exact RAM speeds and voltages for your device so you can adjust them yourself?
