You're encountering an issue where your router's ports aren't opening despite following guides. It seems the static IP you received might be incorrect or not properly configured. Double-check that the IP address assigned to your WAN matches what your ISP provided. Also, ensure you're providing all necessary details when setting up the static IP—missing information can cause connectivity problems. If the issue persists after confirming these points, there may be a deeper configuration or hardware-related problem.

You don't switch your modem to a static IP address; it stays auto-assigned unless your provider offers one. A static WAN IP isn't essential for running servers—dynamic DNS can manage shifting IPs, though it's helpful. The issue probably lies in your local settings; you need your server to maintain a consistent IP within your network and have ports directed to it.

It’s not accurate. You can definitely apply port-forwarding and everything even with a changing IP address. The main point is that the external users will need a different IP, so using a dynamic DNS service—such as Dyndns—would be beneficial. Regarding why it isn’t working: are you certain you’re forwarding ports to your game server’s internal IP?

Previously I relied on port forwarding for For Honor, now it's for Minecraft. I've set up the required port but a testing site claims it won't work. Ignoring that, I've been adjusting my static IP in the router and everything seems correct—my ISP provided it, yet I still don’t get any bytes. How should I switch to dynamic IP for port forwarding or run a server? I’m starting to consider giving up and installing Hamachi instead.

It seems the issue lies with your PC's network adapter configuration, not the router settings.

I've already mentioned it. Just use the default IP settings and create a Dyndns account with a ddclient or similar running on your server. Also, I brought up a question you didn't pay attention to.

Here’s what you can do: review the current options and consider next steps.

That image represents the router's IP address. It doesn't matter for this purpose. You should redirect the port to your server's IP address instead.

They provided the LAN configuration they requested. I need to know my server's IP address so I can set up a server on my PC.
