Concerned about the high temperatures of 12700 for someone getting a new PC
Lately you got a friend a new PC with a 12700, intended for casual gaming. It handles 40-55°C during play, and I’m seeing steady temps around 94°C but climbing to 97°C. He won’t be doing heavy CPU rendering, just a light workload. I’m a bit concerned about long-term reliability, though the setup looks solid—2 fans, an UpHere cooler, and plenty of thermal paste applied with 10 case fans. The specs are solid for its price, but pushing temps that high over time could affect durability. It’s not extreme, but worth keeping an eye on if you want peace of mind.
97C isn't very reliable, but it varies based on ambient temperature, cooler performance, and mounting quality.
