Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my setup. I have an i3-12100 and a B660 DS3H motherboard, but I'm concerned about the number of lanes. Will that work with a 6600XT and a Wi-Fi card? Are there any other compatibility issues I should be aware of? Thanks!

They should function properly. As long as the components fit within the enclosure, everything is okay. The GPU will receive 16 lanes from the CPU, and the WiFi card will get some lanes from the chipset.

Are you thinking about or using a M.2 storage solution? That also needs dedicated lanes, which was unexpected when I upgraded my system. I attempted to install several M.2 drives on the motherboard and, unless I set my GPU to 8x speed instead of 16x, I couldn't utilize all the M.2 ports simultaneously.

Relies a lot on the wiring setup. Some board chipset routes part of the m.2 port via chipset PCIe lanes rather than connecting it directly to the CPU PCIe lane.
