Computer Stopped Working, Now DRAM Indicator Appears with Dark Screen
I'm struggling a bit here. I put together my computer in late December, and it's been running smoothly for about a month. The other day it froze completely—even when I didn't press the power button, it wouldn't shut down. I had to turn off the PSU just to stop it from working, which makes me wonder if that was my first error. Now it starts up, with all components lighting up and fans spinning, but I only see a black screen and the DRAM light blinking on my motherboard. I did enable Expo before it froze, so I think that might have been another mistake.
I've followed all the troubleshooting steps others recommend. I reset the CMOS in several ways—removing the battery, shorting it, then combining both actions. I flashed the BIOS to the latest version, reinserted the RAM one at a time into different slots, and even bought a new set of RAM today. Still nothing has resolved the issue, even though some of those steps seem to work for others.
This is my first computer built with help from a friend, so I'm really nervous about starting it myself. If anyone has any advice on where to begin, I'd be grateful.

I updated the BIOS to the latest version

You may wish to update the BIOS to 3201 and then reset the CMOS.

Without a dedicated GPU, you should be able to display using the integrated graphics.
Thank you for your message. You may want to flash the BIOS with version 3201 and then reset the CMOS. This action was just now performed, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

If you're using a single stick of RAM, make sure to fill slot A2 on the motherboard. Unfortunately, it isn't available in any slot with one or two sticks.

Without a dedicated GPU, you should be able to view the display using the integrated graphics on your processor.
Are you considering removing the GPU and connecting directly to the motherboard? I attempted this before but it didn't work, though I haven't tried removing the GPU yet.
In a final attempt, I tried a brand new model (Gigabyte Aorus x670 Elite Ax) and still experienced DRAM issues that would occasionally affect the CPU. I left it running for at least 15 minutes, but nothing happened. Now I'm considering the possibility that the CPU was damaged during an EXPO, though I'm not sure what else could be causing this.
