This Alienware Aurora R7 from 2017 features a 7700 and a 3070 processor. It has 16GB single-channel RAM and runs Windows 10 64-bit. The power supply rating is unclear. I attempted to install a program that needed a restart, only to face unexpected difficulties. After rebooting, Windows 10 started updating automatically, but the system wouldn’t boot normally. I had to manually fit the 3070 chip and remove the front fan, which triggered a security lock requiring the F1 key. The screen failed to appear during restarts, and even after checking cables and CMOS settings, nothing worked. I’m worried about receiving incorrect information from Geek Squad since I’ve had issues before. Could this be due to a recent Windows update or a hardware quirk?

I discovered this the hard way using an Asus GTX1650S with 4GB RAM and an MSI B450M Bazooka. Some boards are labeled "BIOS crippled," meaning they have restricted support or no support for certain parts—a "members-only" list of compatible components. This issue is more frequent with prebuilt systems, and I think Alienware fits that description.

The system performed well before the W10 upgrade. After the update, it stopped functioning. It turned out the issue was with my wireless keyboard failing to send inputs. Switching to a wired keyboard resolved the problem.

I understand many of the problems I face. It’s unclear if it’s related to Velocifire keyboards or wireless issues overall. The good news is my PC is functioning properly again. Thank you for your assistance.
