Hello, I'm facing a persistent problem. It's been several weeks and the issue keeps happening, even after all the troubleshooting. My PC shuts down unexpectedly, mostly during gaming, but once in a while it powers off without any input. When it does shut down, the lights stay on, yet the fans are completely inactive. The keyboard and mouse behave poorly. If I press the power button, the fans spin, but the system won't start up. To turn it off, I have to press it again, but then the lights come back on while the fans remain off. Only after pressing the power button does it boot normally.

My PC specifications are: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, Aorus B550M Elite rev1.0, Asrock Challenger D RX 6700xt, Kingston HyperX 16gb (8x2), Kingston NV1 SSD (OS), Kingston A2000 SSD Silverstone Strider ST65F-GS 650W (80+ Gold).

I've noticed the ambient temperature is around 52°C to 59°C, which seems within safe limits according to my research. CPU temperatures are about 50°C during games, while the GPU runs at 55-60°C. I initially thought the issue was related to the SSD heating up, but ruled that out since it stays within acceptable ranges. My BIOS version was F13c, with FTPM, SVM, and XMP enabled. I updated to F17, loaded default settings, and ran a memory test with memtest86—results normal.

I didn't experience random shutdowns for a week, so I enabled SVM yesterday. Then it happened again. I recently upgraded the BIOS to the latest version, applied optimized defaults, and re-enabled XMP and SVM. Just after a few hours of gaming, the PC shut down once more. Since virtualization was active at the time, I turned it off again. I'll keep monitoring for a few days.

My friend and I suspect the power supply unit might be the culprit, but I've used it for over two years and am confident it can handle the 650W spec. I also have a 720W UPS. The games involved were Farlight 84, Super Mecha Champions, and Honkai Star Rail—relatively light titles, not fully taxing the GPU.

Could you provide more details? A photo of your setup would help. It seems like it might be on sleep mode when the lights are off. Thanks.

In the BIOS it's feasible for certain boards to adjust RGB settings when the PC is powered down. Verify whether this occurred on your machine.

You recently reinstalled your Windows and updated it to the latest version, so the problem likely isn't with those changes.

But that's not the issue I'm worried about. What I'm focused on is the unexpected shutdown.
