I’m experiencing an issue where games consistently run at 60 frames per second, but the gameplay is choppy with frequent frame drops. I’ve attempted to play titles like Anthem, Apex Legends, Overwatch, and Escape from Tarkov. My system specifications are as follows: GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM, Intel i5-8500 at 3 GHz, an MSi Z370 A Pro motherboard, and 16GB of RAM. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
At what display quality and visual configurations are you experiencing the game?
Generally, it's advisable not to exceed 1080p resolution with medium settings. This may vary based on the specific game.
Furthermore, ensure your Windows power plan is configured to prioritize maximum performance.
What display resolution and visual configurations are you utilizing?
Generally, it's advisable not to exceed 1080p with medium settings for most games (adjustments may vary). Furthermore, confirm that your Windows power plan is configured to “high performance” mode.
I personally run at 1920x1080 with all settings minimized, and I have my power plan set to high performance. I initially suspected a video memory problem, but the intermittent stuttering is simply frustrating.
Do you have V-Sync enabled, or are you utilizing a frame limiter, or perhaps both?
This brief piece could be beneficial for you.
