Computer issues with Husbands keeps failing (crashes).
He initially assumed the issue was with his hard drive, so he installed the OS on his M.2 card and it booted, but later experienced crashes. I considered GPU drivers as a possibility, removed them, reinstalled the drivers, and the problem stopped until he started FFXIV. The error codes recorded were 141, 117, and 119, with code 141 being the most frequent. The GPU wasn't overheating, but there was screen tearing before freezing and then a cycle. It seems the GPU might be having problems. Assistance would be very much appreciated.
What processor does he have? If it includes an onboard GPU, you might try using it temporarily to check if the issue persists. Also, did you reinstall the nVidia drivers during removal? A standard uninstall usually clears graphics card drivers, but sometimes remnants remain after reinstalling. DDU is strongly advised, especially if the drivers are problematic.
No built-in graphics options available, just a tool focused on wiping out drivers completely. I shared a link in my earlier message—it's widely praised by tech fans. Just download, install, and let it remove all nVidia drivers. Impressive! Have you seen that error before? Can you make the system boot into Windows even with this issue? What type of motherboard is installed? Please share your thoughts—this forum relies on quoted replies to stay informative.
I'm still getting familiar with the forum but I managed to figure it out. Eventually, they advised turning off the computer and connecting the PCIe cables to the graphics card. I swapped the cable, reinserted the SLI cable and GPU, and it started up without the previous message. I had to boot into BIOS first, then restart. It's now running. I also ran a stress test and played some games for a short time. A CMD scan confirmed everything was fine, the device manager showed no warnings, and the PCI controller was clear. It seemed odd at first but everything looks good now. I plan to leave it alone and check later. When I revisited earlier, it crashed again, so we'll see what happens next. I'll investigate the DUU and keep you updated. He has an Asus B550M-A-AC EVGA GTX 1070 Ti.
