Computer is showing a random blue screen of death error message when you turn it on.
Hi, recently I've been getting BSODs (blue screens of death) in my games and on the browser a lot. My GPU is an ASUS Radeon RX 6800 Gaming OC with 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM. My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X running at 4.6 GHz. My motherboard is an ASUS Prime B550M-K, and my BIOS version is 3802. I use Adata XPG Spectrix D41 TUF RGB RAM with 8 GB sticks (two of them) that run at 3200 MHz CL16. My power supply is an ASUS TUF Gaming 750b with a 750W rating and 80+ Bronze certification. My case is an ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 RGB, running on Windows 11 Pro version 24h2. I've updated my BIOS, GPU drivers to the newest ones using DDU, and updated my LAN and sound drivers too. I ran a RAM test in Windows (no issues found), did a 3D Mark test without crashing, and scored 14,093 on Time Spy for the Ryzen 5 5600X paired with the Radeon RX 6800 x 1, using an 16 GB graphics card running at 64-bit. Some of my testing includes: OCCT - 3D Adaptive - where I increased variable intensity from 10 to 60 percent every 30 seconds while keeping VRAM usage at 80 percent for ten minutes; this test produced no crashes or anomalies. Minidumps have been shared via a Google Drive link. Some days I can play non-stop for six to seven hours without any issues, but other times the system crashes after two or three hours. When it crashes, sometimes I alt-tab into another app like Age of Empire: Mythology Retold (it crashes when creating a new unit or moving around), Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak (it crashes mid-hunt or while searching for a build), or even apps running in the background like Firefox while watching YouTube and alt-tabbing to Chiaki (PS4 remote play). I'm hoping someone can help me fix this.
Do you notice strange temperatures when BSoDs happen? Have you updated your BIOS, cleared the CMOS after verifying the BIOS flashed successfully, and updated your GPU drivers to the newest version? You should use DDU in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, and AMD), then manually install the latest driver from AMD's support site by right-clicking the installer and running it as Administrator. If your current driver is causing problems, try going back to an older revision first. Your power supply is an ASUS TUF Gaming 750b 750W 80+ Bronze that is 135mm tall. How old is this PSU? Did the BSoDs start happening after you updated your operating system?
Hi, oh well, because the problem is crashes, I can't tell you exactly what the temperature was. But I'm pretty sure it never got super hot. My usual gaming had my GPU at 55-65 degrees, and the hot spot maxed out at 70 C. My CPU stayed between 60-65, no big deal there. No, I just reset everything back to factory defaults and honestly, I'm scared to touch the PC anymore. Yes, I always did update my stuff like you said. Oh, sadly the old version (24.5.1) was really weird about the alt tab bug but it never crashed. I used that specific version for a short time before moving on. Link: https://youtube.com/shorts/IhulOTscQ08?s...UcfY-jcVNh - here is a video showing the issue. My PSU (power supply) is 2 years and a half old, so I don't know exactly if that's related but if I was remembering right, crashes started happening last December when I updated to version 23h2 (if that sounds correct). Then early this year, I switched to 24h2 and crashes became more common.
