Computer is shaking when it turns on, causing it to crash right away.
Hello, So a couple of weeks ago I bought an RTX 4080 card, and ever since putting it in my PC, things have been acting weirdly wrong. When I turn the computer on at first, everything starts up fine. But after about five or six minutes while logging into Windows, the screen just starts lagging really hard and eventually goes completely blank before rebooting. There is a little light flashing on the motherboard that says DRAM during this time. I would really appreciate some help here. greetings, tiebe
Is that the brand-new card or a used one? What power supply are you running on? Can I check your RAM with memtest to see what cards came in first? How hot are those parts getting?
I use the new graphics card, but I tested it with my friend and it works great for him. My RAM is brand new too. Here are my exact specs: Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk B650 WiFi CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X Graphics Card: Asus Rog Strix RTX 4080 OC Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32GB Power Supply: Corsair RM850e The old graphics card was a 4060. My CPU is getting hotter than before, but I have water cooling. At startup it hits about 60 to 70 degrees Celsius, then it cools down once everything else is running.
Update your computer's BIOS and look at that fresh RAM kit with memtest to make sure it works properly.
Hey, I just did a clean install of Windows and also updated the BIOS. When I tested the RAM, it was all good. At first my refresh rate was set to 60 HZ and that worked fine, but as soon as i put it on 165 Hz it started to freeze and crash again. I am really stressed over this because I have not been able to use my computer for a long time now. Thanks for the response though!
Which video cable do you use? change the cable or switch to a different port. What monitor are you looking at? try getting higher refresh rates like 100Hz. If your screen is flickering, slow down step by step and check if it happens between 60Hz and 165Hz as well.
