Computer fails to boot and appears completely dark instead of shutting down.
PC fails to boot and appears completely black without power. Hello, I own an MSI PRO B760-P WiFi with a DDR4 board and an i5-12600KF. While gaming, my system just shut down. Check the surroundings to find out what caused it. GPU is working fine. I tried it on my brother’s machine, removed all RAM one by one, but nothing changed. Even with the GPU connected, it doesn’t power on. There’s enough capacity to run the fans and GPU. When it stopped, no sounds were heard. USB-C works, but charging my phone, connecting my keyboard, mouse, Hyper X, and webcam all failed. I’m looking for help to diagnose this issue. Please assist me.
You could install a non-F CPU without using the GPU. I'd make sure to replace everything carefully, including the PSU side, and connect only the essentials. Which PSU model are you using?
It seems there might be an issue with the CPU or motherboard. Would you like to try another CPU in your system or run a test on a different machine? A CPU can fail suddenly, but it's crucial to confirm the problem isn't with the motherboard. Good luck!
I verified the motherboard might be the problem. I tried the motherboard with another power supply and no RAM installed. It showed a DRAM error in the EZ debug. When I used the tested PSU on another motherboard, it wasn’t supplying enough power. I believe the PSU is likely the cause. I’ll confirm once I have a new PSU and connect it to the motherboard I’m using.
