Computer crash
Hello, I’m facing a quite pressing issue with my computer that I had less than a year ago.
Recently, I’ve experienced a recurring problem where the PC would suddenly shut down, sometimes even when idle, and then restart on its own.
At first, it would power off abruptly, only to come back on after a short delay. Later, it would attempt to turn itself back on but failed—monitors wouldn’t detect any video input and the motherboard LED stayed lit for several minutes. Eventually, I had to manually restart it using the designated button.
I’ve tried various solutions, but sometimes it didn’t work at all during certain periods and other times the issue reappeared.
I’m eager to understand the cause so I can prevent further complications. Please let me know if anyone can assist me.
I can share some details about my system:
Operating System: Windows 11 Home Edition
Processor: Ryzen 5 5600X
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHz (2x8)
Storage: WD Black SN859, 500GB NVMe
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda Compute 4TB, 7200RPM
Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Plus ATX AM4
Power Supply: Corsair RM750x
I’m confident the overheating isn’t the cause—I checked and temperatures never exceeded 75 degrees.
The MemoryDiagnostic tool showed no memory issues.
Event Viewer reported a critical event: “System restarted without proper shutdown,” possibly due to an interruption, crash, or unexpected power loss.
I also verified all cables were secure and cleaned the dust from the PC.
If you have any suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate your help. Feel free to ask for more information if needed. Thank you very much.
Did you check if the BIOS is current? I experienced a comparable issue with my PC, mistaking it for a power supply problem since I saw an alternating VGA and CPU error light on the motherboard, but updating the BIOS resolved the issue.
To see what issues might exist, visit run userbenchmark.com and share the link of your outcome, such as https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28977730. Restore BIOS via jumper settings like clrCMOS or JBAT (later you’ll need to adjust boot priority). Verify Windows integrity. Launch the command prompt with admin rights and execute DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Follow the guide on lifewire for opening an elevated prompt. Refer to Microsoft support for clean boot instructions. Test memory with memtest.org’s USB autoinstaller (bootable drive). Run RAM at 2133MHz to assess stability. Examine the hard drive using its manufacturer’s tool and consider updating firmware if needed. Use ddu uninstaller and reinstall the latest graphics driver.
Hi, here's the benchmark:

I checked the memory and everything is ok and installed the latest graphics driver.
I tried to check windows integrity but the loading bar is stuck.
I checked the hard drive with Crystal Disk Info, here's a screen:

The windows integrity check is complete; I had to wait a bit longer. Also, it indicates there are some damaged files.
Update the BIOS to version 7C56v1F
Verify the SSD using the Western Digital tool and install firmware updates if needed
Inspect the HDD with Seatools and apply firmware updates when available
