Computer becomes unstable after clearing CMOS
I had to understand what a stable overclock for the clock on my RAM was, and I wasn’t sure where my computer began behaving strangely. After doing an overclock on my RAM for roughly four months, it started acting up about two months later. Games became unplayable, I was getting around 30 FPS, and the screen was extremely choppy. I thought I had fixed it, but it came back. Then I reinstalled Windows, cleared the CMOS on my BIOS, and still faced issues—choppy performance. Yesterday, after adjusting the CPU socket voltage a bit during another overclock attempt, it worked for a short time, but didn’t last beyond a day. Now I’ve reset the BIOS, but the problem persists. Any advice or possible causes?
