I think the potential benefits are limited either way regarding Intel 12/14 (not available on my 12400).

This looks like a risky choice based on current data about 13th and 14th generation devices. Most evidence points to high core models being more likely to face early failure, though we can't be certain it won't affect other types.

Indeed, I overlooked that. However, the CPU's heat generation, which is already high, will likely escalate significantly soon. Edited July 13, 2024 by leclod

On a 14700k with limited airflow, it appears the system struggles to dissipate 65W from a compact setup, making it tough to manage heat even with the best cooling solution.

When stability isn't guaranteed, performance peaks usually fall between 5.5GHz and 5.7GHz. Achieving 6GHz often needs exceptional luck or a minimal stress test setup—similar to playing Minesweeper. My best results with the 13700K reached around 5.8GHz, which required disabling Hyperthreading and E-Cores. Even then, it hovered near the limit. On average, I managed about 5.8GHz, but only when running at stock speed and with a slight voltage reduction. For regular use, simply lower the voltage and let the system settle naturally.

It doesn't seem worthwhile to push it further. I'll walk away then. Thanks for the details.

My suggestion is to avoid it—13 and 14th gen are risky...
