Complete£315 motherboard with CPU, RAM, and M.2 slot bundle
I didn’t want to wait, so I placed the order right away.
I spent a total of £313.98 on Amazon for these items:
(£124.59) Gigabyte B760 GAMING X DDR4
(£114.72) Intel S1700 CORE i5 12400 BOX 6x2,5 65W GEN12, Black
(£43.98) CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 Desktop memory – Black
(£30.69) P3 500GB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe Internal SSD
A few items were discounted during the Amazon.co.uk spring sale, so after applying the premium on the RGB RAM it came under £300.
So yes, it’s for my mum to get her Windows 11 setup—she’ll have a faster machine than mine. X0)
My original question:
Hi everyone.
I’m upgrading my mum’s PC for Windows 11 and aiming to start the build soon.
I’m hoping to get some advice.
The PCs will be used for eBay selling and general browsing.
I’m based in the U.K., so I’ll likely buy from Amazon or maybe Scan?
I have an EVGA Supernova 650 P2 PSU for now, with plans to replace it later.
I also have a GTX 1650 to fit into it.
The budget is about £315.
I’ve noted the budget as £315 because her birthday is coming up and as a surprise, I’m assembling a PC with RGB (she enjoyed the RGB in my PC), so the extra £15 comes from my pocket for an RGB RAM kit.
I’m putting it into a Lian Li O11 Air Mini case with Corsair Masterfan Halo fans (original Halo fans, not the Halo 2 ones).
I have a Corsair AIO for cooling.
I’m considering these components:
(£99.99) MSI PRO B760-P
(£114.72) Intel S1700 CORE i5 12400 BOX 6x2,5 65W GEN12, Black
(£43.98) CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 Desktop memory – Black
(£30.69) P3 500GB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe Internal SSD
What do people think? Is there room for improvement?

I believe I'll be swapping the RAM for a 32GB model.
I still want RGB, but I didn't realize that doubling the capacity offered much better value!
