Did anyone else try Watch Dogs 2 on PC? We got a code after buying the 1070 FTW from EVGA. Our setup runs at 1080p with ultra settings and about 60-70 FPS, but when we played the game it only hit around 30 FPS. Have you had similar experiences? Your system specs are: i7-6700K @ 4.4GHz, 16GB DDR4 at 3000MHz, EVGA GTX 1070 (not overclocked).

I was consistently achieving around 50 to 60 frames per second on my setup at 1440p. Yet, there were moments when performance plummeted to under 30fps. To investigate, I used a wanted level and explored the entire map. Since I had preordered through Steam, I asked for a refund. Ubisoft must improve their optimization.

They've been stuck on the same concepts since the very first Watch Dogs title.

I experience some stuttering when V-sync is turned on. The game appears similar to GTA V, but I likely achieve double the frames per second in GTA V with most settings maximized—advanced options left off or barely activated.

It seems the game resembles GTA V but with a distinct visual style.

I bought it out of boredom and played roughly 20 minutes, then got a refund. It wasn’t because of any optimization problems—I just thought it looked like a generic GTA version in terms of setting. The vehicles felt and sounded awful, the engine revs sounded like a PS2 game, and the overall feel was off-putting. They were trying too hard to seem cool or hip, which made it really uncomfortable.

I don’t like the current attempts to seem trendy or “cool.” I also want to improve my FPS more. I’m using a 1080p hybrid with a 4790, but sometimes I’m hitting around 30 FPS or less.

Absolutely, I get that feeling. Our cards are powerful and should handle maximum performance without issues. It seems Ubisoft hasn't taken any steps since the original Watch Dogs. The suggested requirements are unrealistically high, and even with those specs, we still struggle to play it smoothly. I’d rather enjoy No Man’s Sky or Dishonored 2 instead.

I believe it's even worse than GTA V.

It's unclear what the problem is. Even when setting up, the system indicates only 5GB of VRAM is needed, which should easily cover the 1080 resolution.
