I haven't played Split Second yet, so I'm unsure how similar these titles will be. Still, Test Drive Unlimited and TDU 2 sound really good—just a bit dated, though.

You prefer the driving feel over the storyline. Games like Need For Speed and Forza Horizon handle the mechanics well. The concept is less common these days.
