B450, X470 and certain x370 models can be adjusted through a BIOS update. All B450 boards released by MSI with "Max" in the name have already been updated from the factory.

What model are you looking at? Most B450 boards come with the latest BIOS, while MSI's maximum boards include Zen 2 support. If your B450 didn't receive the new BIOS, contact the vendor or local store to have it updated. B550 only comes with Zen 2, and X570 also ships with Zen 2 by default.
