I just replaced G1100 with CR1000A but the performace stays the same. I am not saying speed(no change) but wifi connection which is the reason I replaced it. Therefore, I don't think it is a good idea to replace your FIOS router to a newer one unless it is damaged or you are going to upgrade your internet to 1 Gbps or above.
