Good day, the choice of component for encoding and the decision between undervolting or overclocking are key points to consider. Here’s what I have:

My setup includes:
- CPU 5950x AMD
- RAM gSkill zRoyal Elite (4x16 GB), 3600 OC, 14 latency
- GPU AMD 6950 Sapphire Toxic Liquid Edition
- SSD WD 850x4TB
- Motherboard: Mobo Asus x570 RoG VIII Dark Hero
- Cooling: CPU cooling via Corsair i170 capellix
- Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo
- Streaming software: OBS

Regarding encoding, I’m unsure if CPU or GPU should be used for streaming. I plan to use OBS and possibly split my monitor into two or three displays.

For performance, I wonder if setting a FPS cap is necessary for streaming or gaming. Also, since the screen resolution will be 4K (7680 x 2160), streaming in higher quality might actually improve encoding smoothness if I choose CPU over GPU.

Lastly, for streaming with a Go XLR, do I really need a stream deck? Or can OBS handle it alone?

P.S. And does dividing the monitor affect CPU or GPU usage?

The CPU, however, offers more flexibility for encoding tasks. Of course, the actual FPS you achieve will depend on your target frame rate—ranging from 120 to 240 frames per second—and even then, bandwidth constraints might still arise despite sufficient computing power. Avoid undervolting while managing other factors. If you configure everything properly and decide to try it, you can compare the results before and after to see if the improvement is worthwhile. Undervolting may introduce instability, which isn't ideal for streaming.
