I assembled my workstation over ten years ago and own a 2020 school laptop. My desktop runs a 3930k overclocked to 4.8ghz while my laptop uses the 4700u. Both have 16gb of RAM. My primary need is video editing, so I'm curious about the performance gap between these setups. My desktop has a 3060ti and I believe AE mainly relies on GPU for certain tasks. Would it be more efficient to stick with my laptop?

If you have the necessary tools and setup, why not try it yourself? I think the desktop version could run smoother with a GPU, though this really depends on the software and your process. On the other hand, the laptop might perform better thanks to its quicker CPU.
