I'm still in a similar situation. I don't plan to upgrade to AM5 or higher for a couple of years. I have a 5600 (non-x) and a 4070. I play at 1440. I've tried getting close to 5800X3d a few times, but I'm holding back. My overall PC performance is fine, but when I have extra cash, I wonder if it's worth upgrading this generation. I've seen some videos suggesting good results with these chips, especially for FPS gains, though sometimes the improvement is minimal—just a slight drop in lows. That's noticeable, but I think it's not enough until I go through the cycle again later.

yeah. Sounds like me xD I do enjoy games like Victoria 3 and other grand strategy games as well as 4x games, so I could problably defend the upgrade. I guess im waiting for a sale or something.

It looks like the solution is confirmed—5700x3D is definitely the best approach.

5700x3D typically costs $200 USD, which seems like a significant jump for an 8c 3D v-cache CPU. For players who enjoy Star Citizen, this upgrade is essential. Besides multiplayer experiences, the benefits in that game are substantial. Compared to 7700x and 7800x3D, it offers roughly a 50% boost in frame rate across most titles. A YouTuber has confirmed these improvements in Star Citizen, matching the gains seen in other multiplayer games. Higher minimum framerates and much more stable performance are key advantages. tenpoundfortytwo - YouTube
