Hello! You're considering upgrading from your i5 2500K to a newer model. The i5 3470 offers better performance at lower clock speeds, while the i5 3000K provides higher speeds but may require more power. Since you're pairing it with an RTX 3060, the 3470 could give you a smoother experience without needing extreme overclocking.

You've already confirmed it works on your motherboard—why not try it on both systems and verify yourself instead of seeking advice online?

I haven’t purchased the third generation yet; I was suggesting it would work at 3.6GHz if I bought it.

Avoid purchasing another i5, particularly the second or third generation models—these differ only slightly. If you decide to buy something for that socket, opt for an i7 instead. Honestly, it’s wiser to invest more time and move away from that outdated platform.

It seems like you're questioning the noticeable differences between these two options. The change might be minimal, around 1 fps. Also, could you tell me what type of mobile device you have? That way I can offer more specific advice.
