Hello everyone
I'm struggling to choose between the two laptops.
The intended use is gaming, programming, and watching YouTube videos.

Specs:
- Vivobook: 2.8k 90hz, 600nit OLED, Ryzen 7 5800h, RTX 3050 4gb 35w, 16gb 3200mhz DDR4, 512gb PCIe Gen 3 SSD
- Scar: 2560x1440 240hz, DCI-P3 screen with adaptive sync, RTX 3070 Ti 125-150w, I9 12900h, 16gb DDR5 4800mhz, 1tb PCIe 4 SSD

Overall it seems the Scar offers a better display, longer battery life, lighter weight, and lower cost.
The Vivobook is more powerful for gaming but has shorter battery life and higher price.
It looks like you're paying more for the graphics card in the Scar.
Which one do you prefer?
What would you recommend?

Thank you

They both will be able to play games, but the real issue is whether you're ready to give up your gaming experience for the cost. In each case, you're paying for a reduced version of the Strix on the Vivobook, and generally the device is designed for professionals who need portability, not a full desktop alternative like the Strix clearly offers.

The Vivobook Pro 14 is priced at 950$, whereas the Scar 17 is listed at 2230$. Is that a reasonable amount?

I believe that's a reasonable amount. Could you provide the list of games you plan to play?
