Hello! I'm seeking advice on whether upgrading to the Ryzen 5 5600X would be better for gaming. My current setup is below average, and I'm considering a jump from 3600 to 5600 MHz. I'd appreciate knowing about the potential performance improvements and the expected FPS gains.

It depends on your setup—what resolution and frame rate are you using?

It depends on your gaming setup. On 1080p you may see better improvements, while 1440p offers less. I’m currently assembling my PC and can achieve around 3600/3600x for about 200 euros. The 5600x version isn’t available locally yet, but I expect it to cost at least 370-400 euros, which makes it unlikely to be worth the investment right now.

There's not really any reason to upgrade. If you want some higher framerates (and you shouldn't really need them, unless you have a 1080p 240hz monitor), and you're still using the stock cooler, get a cooler upgrade and overclock.
