What do you think about getting one of them? I’m still figuring it out and not sure which one to choose.

There are various kinds of games, and you shouldn't try to compare them.

Not familiar with them yet but I'm in agreement with Jerakl.

apples to oranges elite offers a solid experience but centers heavily on being confined within a vessel at all times. star citizen, on the other hand, provides a first-person perspective—exploring the ship, wandering the planet side, and participating in space battles directly. this makes it more immersive, which is why it stands out to me. especially the massive ships are a highlight for me!

Im enjoying Elite - I haven't played Star Citizen and probably wont until it is actually released. Elite has been great - there is a bit of a grind to making money to earning ships - and there is a bit of a learning curve as well to the controls and mechanics of the game - And yes the multiplayer aspect at the moment is a bit borked - but I have to admit i have been waiting for a space sim since the days of x-wing and so far Elite has been a blast.

They both came with me, but SC isn’t available soon. That’s why I got Elite to keep things going until then. I’m really enjoying it and won’t stop playing even after SC releases. I can’t add much new since they’re already different games. Once a few expansions are out, I think they’ll have similar features.

I suggest going for Elite Now first. Once Star Citizen launches, it’ll be a few more years away. They’re entirely different experiences—just check out some Let’s Plays on YouTube. Except for the big story campaign in Star Citizen, which is quite impressive.

I read somewhere that Elite has a campaign, but it's done kinda weirdly, through Galnet or something. It was a long time since I read that, I never even thought to look once I got the game tbh, I was to fixated on getting to my Anaconda.

I've tried both games; right now Elite: Dangerous stands out as superior since SC is mainly a prototype. I believe it will improve once the full release comes. Right now, the main activities are grinding for stronger ships and exploring.
