I've been using 32 GB (8GBx4 Dual Channel) of Corsair Dominator DDR4-3600 C16-18-18-36 (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories...tech-specs) that I bought directly from Corsair. I had to file for an RMA because of a faulty DIMM. These issues occur, so I won’t throw away the rest just because one unit didn’t work. The repair cost was $470. I replaced it with G.Skill Trident. Near me, Microcenter only had a 16GBx4 of DDR4-3600 C16-19-19-39 according to the packaging (https://www.gskill.com/specification/165...cification). It costs $360 for 64GB. Personally, I think 64GB is excessive, but CL16 makes up for it—especially before DDR5 arrives. I get decent performance from both Dominator and G.Skill, benchmarking similarly. I appreciate the look but prefer most of my gear connected via iCue, which is handy. 32GB is more than enough for my setup. My dilemma: stick with the known model for $100 extra and half capacity, or go with the 64GB G.Skill for $360 and similar performance? Also, I’m running an Asus X570 Crosshair 8, Ryzen 3900x, and an Aorus 2080 Super OC in a Dynamic O11 with 10 fans and a 34" ultrawide.
It's likely you're unfamiliar with the idea of running at 3600mhz on a 64GB system (16GB x 4). You might find it more cost-effective and compatible with lower speeds like 3200mhz. Good luck!
