It depends on the amount of RAM required and whether you can obtain everything you need with just two sticks or not. Three sticks are fine if placed correctly in the slots. Check the motherboard manual for guidance and diagrams.
⚠️ Note: The third stick is random and different from the others, which may cause issues. Use only the matching pairs if you don’t need extra capacity. Ideally, all RAM sticks should be of the same brand and model. Mixing them can work but is unpredictable—if the random stick is slow or faulty, it will limit the performance of your faster sticks. Always follow the manual instructions.
If you fill only B1 & B2, expect single-channel operation. For dual channel, aim for at least one slot in A and one in B. The manual will specify which slots to prioritize. Some boards prefer slots 1 and 3, others 2 and 4—follow the manual’s recommendations.
