Comparing Question13420H with the 120u Laptop and assessing the durability of the Lenovo V15 G4 versus the Asus Vivobook
Hi,
I've been struggling to find clear answers online and appreciate your help here.
I'm comparing two laptops with nearly identical specifications; the main difference lies in their CPUs.
The first is a Lenovo V15 G4 featuring a Core i5 13420H, while the second is an Asus Vivobook with a Core 5 120U.
For heavy tasks, the 13420H is built for performance—offers better power handling and multicore capabilities, which seems advantageous for video editing, especially when using CPU-intensive software like Premiere Pro.
On the other hand, it consumes three times more power.
Does this imply the 13420H will drain the battery faster during light activities such as word processing or browsing compared to the 120U? Or is it simply that it can deliver more power when needed, but not significantly more for lighter tasks?
Regarding streaming with services like Streamyard, I think the processing is mostly managed by the streaming provider, so CPU usage shouldn’t be a major concern. The 120U appears to be a more efficient processor in this regard.
For streaming purposes, it seems the 120U would be a better fit since it’s lighter and more suited for frequent use.
Additionally, the Vivobook has a larger 17.3" screen compared to the 15.6" of the Lenovo, which could be a significant upgrade if performance gains aren’t critical.
Lastly, I’ve had a Lenovo V15 G4 with a build that felt quite weak. Would the Vivobook offer better durability? That would also matter for my decision.
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
The 13th Gen will provide greater power, whether in light or heavy usage.
With all due respect, we're unsure how much of your day involves video editing and how much time you dedicate to streaming. If editing isn't a major part of your routine, the lower-powered choice seems more suitable.
Not every Vivobook is identical, but some models I've used have strong palmrests and lids.
