PCIe offers a slight improvement, making an add-on card useful, though onboard Wi-Fi works adequately for most tasks except competitive gaming. You won't see noticeable changes in streaming quality like YouTube videos. It might be better to share this on the Motherboard forums since few people will check, and your post focuses on Wi-Fi.

Most boards feature integrated Wi-Fi linked to PCIe. The Crosshair VI WiFi has performed reliably.
