The B650 is marginally more affordable than the B650M in my region. Which one suits you best? The 650M offers solid protection features like a 2.4-inch shield, extra security components, and a stainless steel design—though I’m not certain if these are available on the 650 model. It has more cores (12+2+1) compared to the M model’s 10+2+1, but the exact meaning of that difference is unclear. The USB speed is 20Gbps Type C, while the M model supports 10Gbps. Additionally, it includes one extra system fan.

It seems like you're suggesting that most people either don't require it or the alternative already exists.

the non m is a solid straight-up board; if you're okay with the ATX size, go for it. All those points are just fluff talk—feel free to skip them, but I'm really worried about your build. It seems like you might be stuck with a 4060 even though you have $1000.

The B650 offers a noticeable improvement over the B650M, particularly in aspects such as 2.5GB/s USB performance, which many users won't find on devices capable of matching that rate.

You received 4060 users, but you asked about USB ports and whether 10+2+1 with DRPS/P-Pack is better than 12+2+1.

Compare the models using actual figures. B650 outperforms b650m only slightly and isn’t significantly better than the base am5 board (b650m hdv). The main differences are minor, aside from adding Wi-Fi at the expense of integrated I/O shielding and lower memory capacity. Since you already have the 4060, it’s likely a platform upgrade. If you’re on AM4, consider moving to a 5700x3D board and wait for another generation before switching to AM5. The 4060 is outdated; don’t prioritize high graphics settings or 1440p—its performance is insufficient for those demands.
