My Fortnite game has begun to lag, freezing for approximately one second every five minutes. The application is consuming 2.6 gigabytes of my computer’s 8 gigabyte memory. I have a GeForce GTX 960 graphics card with 4 gigabytes of video RAM. Would reducing my system’s memory consumption be possible by upgrading to a graphics card featuring 8 gigabytes of video RAM?

Is something consuming an excessive amount of memory in the background, using more than 5 gigabytes? That’s irrelevant to the original query. The question is whether upgrading your graphics card with increased memory will lower the amount of system RAM needed by Fortnite.
